The choice to keep POJOs pure doesn't come without cost. Rather than spending the effort to develop and maintain complex configuration files it is possible to simply use annotations to mark classes and let spring do the rest of the work. Resolving dependencies can be simple if they follow a convention such as matching by type or by name. This is choosing convention over configuration . It is also arguable that, when refactoring to another framework, removing framework specific annotations would be a trivial part of the task and many injection annotations are now standardized.
When DC Comics acquired Charlton Comics and their stable of classic comic characters in 1985, writer Alan Moore decided to use some of those long forgotten characters to create a murder-mystery story revolving around the death of a super hero – and thus Watchmen was born. One of those Charlton characters from 1966 was named Thunderbolt who had the power to use ninety percent of his brain. Moore gave those powers to the newly created Ozymandias (his name is taken from the poem of the same title by 18th century poet Percy Shelley about the momentary nature of power) and made him both a protagonist and antagonist in his epic five-series graphic novel.
The second reason why I do not like cannulas is that the procedure becomes a much “bigger procedure” and less of a lunchtime one. To explain, with a cannula, firstly a very large bore needle is used to make the entry point into the skin, and then this bendy needle is awkwardly pushed and prodded along under the skin to a distant target, all of which patient always say actually hurts more and is more uncomfortable, and in my opinion uneccessary. Surgeons , who are used to much bigger operations and procedures, unsurprisingly often prefer the cannula.
